Susan Steatham of our Facebook Jigsaw Puzzle Connections Group shared her method on how to replace missing jigsaw puzzle pieces. IF you lot have the figurer skills and devices so engineering science makes it much easier.

Method 1 - Devices, equipment etc....

Before computers I used to leave them with the pieces missing. At present I am able to brand a replacement piece, they're not perfect but at least I'grand not left with a hole.
1. Scan in the puzzle photo from the box - or take a close up photo and save to figurer.
two. Slide a very thin piece of carte du jour - quondam greetings cards are ideal under the puzzle until it's nether the hole from the missing piece.
three. Inside the hole draw around the shape of the missing piece with a very thin pencil.

4. Remove the bill of fare.
5. Measure the size of the shape equally accurately as possible.
vi. Open up a word certificate and insert the previously saved puzzle photograph.
seven. Work out the area of the missing slice as accurately as possible on the photo and crop the photograph to the surface area required and re-set the flick size to the pre-measured size.
8. Impress the modest replacement picture.
ix. Cut out the shape of the missing piece from the card.
10. Mucilage the printed picture show to the carte, when glue is dry out re-trim the replacement piece to fit and insert into puzzle.
This may audio a little long-winded but information technology doesn't take as long as you lot may at starting time think. Tin you see the missing piece in the following photo? I used the box chapeau paradigm to replace this missing slice and then taped over the pigsty on the box lid.
